Aims

The course is aimed at providing a basic awareness of the legal requirements and safety issues surrounding the use of lifting equipment and lifting operations.

This course is an excellent introduction to safe lifting awareness and can be tailored to your specific organisation or industry sector requirements. It also assists companies whose Safety Management System (SMS) requires lifting operations to be safely managed.

Objectives

At the end of the session participants will:

  • Be aware of the current legislation that affects lifting operations and equipment.
  • Understand the requirements of the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations.
  • Be aware of the responsibilities placed on an employer and employees in relation to Lifting Operations and Equipment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to carry out a risk assessment and take appropriate actions with regard to lifting operations.
