Fire Warden (1 Day - half-day on clients site)

Fire is an insidious threat to life and business. Statistics would suggest that 75% of businesses suffering a major fire do not recover without a sound business continuity plan. It is better to take measures to prevent a fire than to suffer the consequences. This course will raise the awareness of fire hazards; examine fire prevention techniques, fire precautions and procedures.

Objectives

On completion of the course delegates will:

  • Understand the chemistry of fire
  • Recognise the hazard posed by fire
  • Appreciate the need for good fire prevention
  • Experience the use of appliances in 'real' fire situations

Fire Appliances and Control Systems

Practical - delegates will experience fire in a controlled environment where they will be instructed on the selection and use of fire extinguishers.*
Delegates will be given an opportunity to use fire extinguishers.

Hazard identification and control measures
