Occupational Health and Safety Level 4

The NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety Level 4 has been developed for candidates working in the general area of health and safety, those managing a health and safety function and managers having a significant responsibility for safety.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, however, candidates must ideally be involved in general health and safety advisory or a management role. The NVQ Level 4 is conducted at a number of taught sessions at Line Business Services offices in Keynsham, where candidates will be given specific guidance on the subjects and shown how to produce a portfolio of evidence, based on course work and practice.

Successful candidates will, after the qualifying period and an interview with IOSH, be eligible for entry into The Institution of Occupational Health at Member level.

408 - Determine and implement health and safety risk control measures

409 - Develop and implement active monitoring systems for health and safety

410 - Develop and implement reactive monitoring systems for health and safety

411 - Develop and implement health and safety emergency response systems and procedures

412 - Develop and implement health and safety review systems

413 - Develop and implement health and safety audit systems
